The Gavilan College Choir presents Early Musical Entertainment

I’ll be rocking out on the soprano recorder in some Renaissance Dances and on my wood flute on Bach’s Coffee Cantata. Yes, he really did write a cantata about a teenage girl hooked on Starbuck’s.

San Francisco Composer’s Chamber Orchestra

Bernard Hermann’s Musical Score from Little Girl Lost, a 1962 episode from the TV series, The Twilight Zone.

Don’t miss this performance of Bernard Herrmann’s musical score for the Twilight Zone’s 1962 episode, “Little Girl Lost”. Conducted by John Kendall Bailey, this eerily beautiful piece is scored for four flutists playing all members of the flute family - flutes, piccolos, alto and bass flutes - along with four, yes, four harps, a viola d’amore, and percussion. Wild, huh?!

Kris Palmer and Dmitriy Cogan, performing music for flute and piano at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Danville on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at 5:00PM.

Bach's C Major Flute Sonata
Schumann's Romances, arranged for alto flute and piano by Dr. Palmer
Briccialdi's Carnival of VeniceCharles Ives' Variations on America
Joplin's Ragtimes on the piccolo
Mike Mower's Sonata Latino

Come hear the wood flute, the alto flute, and a little piccolo. I know it's a church, but dancing in the aisles during the Ragtimes and the Latin Sonata is strongly encouraged! And remember, Dmitriy Cogan is one of the best pianists you will ever hear, anywhere.
