A winner in the Artists International Competition, Dr. Palmer made her New York recital debut at Carnegie Hall to rave reviews and has performed as a concerto soloist with orchestras in the U.S. and Europe. She is the author of the book, "Ornamentation According to C.P.E. Bach and J.J. Quantz", her solo CD, "Versailles" released on the Stillwater Sound label, features her own arrangements of French Baroque music, and she is a second-prize winner in the National Flute Association’s Young Artist Competition. She holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts from Rice University, and she is a former member of the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Palmer currently performs as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestra musician in classical music and musical theatre throughout Northern California, and she has been offering intermediate and advanced flute instruction since 1992. Dr. Palmer performs on a Powell grenadilla wood flute, a Powell and Drelinger silver flute, a grenadilla wood piccolo by Lillian Burkart, and a Pearl alto flute.
